Hotel Nuestro Sueno could be a Private Resort Home; you can just live a life of luxury and have guests and friends at your leisure (the operating costs to live like royalty are nominal compared to most parts of the world). The initial idea of the Hotel was just that, our private home large enough for grand-children to come and spend the summers -- then it took on a life of its own, and grew to its present size and endeavors.

Nuestro Sueno is a private 15 room full service boutique hotel. The property is located on the quiet east shore of Lake Atitlan, in San Antonio Palopo, Solola, Guatemala. Find us on booking, tripadvisor, and expedia (OTA websites).
The property comes fully furnished and operating (even during the past years of economic troubles there was an operating profit)... The operating staff are in place; there is a Steam Room, Dry Sauna, Gymnasium, in-door Exercise pool, and 21 functioning fireplaces. Looking to swap for: We would trade/sell outright, or we would love to find a "trade-in/buy-in" partner/associate, hopefully active but somewhat passive could work, but that requires someone who has an affinity for working with the public and who wants to live in paradise...
We are seeking smaller similar types of properties (gites, mansion d'hoteles, restaurant) or estate home(s) with income potential. We prefer having a bit of land (vineyards and wineries, orchards, larger farming operations are acceptable as well). A smaller (non-resort) hotel or Bed and Breakfast with restaurant on a bit of land is also very desirable. We are not ready to fully retire. Our last child (10 yrs old) and grand-children that reside with us need to complete the best educations possible. Doesn't sound too ambitious, does it???
WE would give extra credit in a transaction for including cash (as much as 30% credit -- i.e. $100,000 cash counts as $130,000 in the balancing of the trade)
We like water, river front, lake front or ocean front are great, near by is good, but those are not mandatory. We would do a partial restoration as long as the price was reflective of the effort required. Boats with live aboard possibilities (river barges), or commercial applications (small cruise or private rental experience) could be part of or all of a deal with cash. Rental properties with track record or rational could work.
We are serious about Spain, Portugal, France, Italy, Great Britain, (other Europe possible), the Americas (maybe), and would consider southeast Asia.
