The summer is really hot and sunny, vibrant colours, swimming in the clean rivers, fishing, bbqs, boating and encourages a healthy active lifestyle. The winter is not as cold as you may think, but there is plenty of snow from december till March. People ski, snowboard, use snowmobiles and dog sled for fun, also ice fishing. There are reindeers and wild Elk, the odd elusive lynx and even bear!

Nearly all Swedish people under the age of 65 speak almost perfect English and are happy to show off! You can also take advantage of free swedish course at the local collage when you move to sweden - its a good way to meet people too.

Heating is with energy efficient wooden pellets which feed into the burner, they can be delivered in huge sacks by a local company - or you can buy them from a hardware store.

We ourselves have lived here for 4 years and absolutely love it. We are only looking to return to the UK as my husbands health means he cannot drive for a while..and it really is essential here. Also, we have 2 young children who dont ever see their grandparents..who are in ill health -- and we'd like to spend atleast the next 5 years close to family while we can.
